Control Your Hard Drive Activity:

Hard Drive consumes lots of Power, so controlling the Hard Drive activity is very important. The number of spin in the Hard Drive should be reduced which can be done by defragmentation. To do that, go to Programs, Accessories and System Tools menu to see the options available. Hard Drive will be used as a virtual memory when RAM runs out of Memory. To control it go to Control Panel, System, Performance Settings, Advanced, Virtual Memory and set the value to 1.5 times as that of the memory of RAM.
